AUGUST TDM.

➛ Welcome to Last Eden's TDM for August! Threads here can be counted as game canon.
➛ Feel free to use the prompts to test out a new character or to try out the game's premise!
➛ The TDM can be used for your application sample, though it is not a requirement.

A DREAM, OF A SOUL AWAKE.

You are asleep. The dreamscape ripples, resolves into a vision of a foreign land, and then a world of pure white. There is the sensation of rising through deep water, and then you find yourself in a room of white marble. Your items may be set on the floor around you, or you could have arrived bare-handed - whichever it is, you'll soon be addressed by a couple of tired-looking people in white coats. It seems they're as confused as you are.

A ➛ After getting a brief introduction to the White Moon and choosing a faction, you will be allowed to leave. It's a whole new world, after all - so why not look around? The architecture of the Administrative Zone is very formal, in high contrast to the Free Market which is practically a riot of colour and wares. Merchants from all four nations peddle their wares here - have a look around, but also keep a watch on your purse. Some things can be quite expensive.

B ➛ As you head out of the Administrative Zone's gates, a flash of light catches your eye. The sun-crystal is reflected quite brightly in the window of a nearby building, almost dazzling you - and in that instant you see someone behind you in the street. A youth with white hair and grey clothing, oddly familiar. You blink, and he's gone. Maybe he was never there at all.

TO THE STARS, WE ENTRUST OUR DIRECTION.

The money given to every new foreigner is limited. It seems you will be expected to earn your keep from now on, either through tradecraft or through offering your services to the populace. If taking on small contracts isn't your thing, each faction also has bounties up for the taking. After all, you carry a surprising resistance to the miasma that lurks outside the city walls. Why not put it to use?

C ➛ Fancy taking a ride on a dragon? The roostkeepers of the Ice faction are friendly and will allow you to interact with their charges as long as you're respectful of their boundaries. The older dragons will merely gaze at you pensively, but the youngsters are always up for a game of catch or two. There's also the option of dragon taxi if you wish to travel between regions. If you can fork out the coin, they'll send you across the Moon in the fastest time possible.

D ➛ The inland Sea is abuzz with activity at this time of the year. While the seasonal variations are dampened inside the Moon ship, that hasn't stopped the natives from hanging out at the beach. The Blood faction's side has plenty of revelry, with fireworks set off at night and grilled fish stalls set up along the waterfront. Some of the food on offer may carry potent effects, however - the shamans are used to ingesting enhanced wines, but are you?

E ➛ If you've let slip the fact that you're from another world, you may soon gain some fans. Some natives will be curious and wish to interview you, but others may have more shady intentions. It can be hard to distinguish well-wishers from kidnappers - if you're being cornered by a few very earnest folk, it might be time to run.

F ➛ The roostkeepers will let you ride one of their older dragons if you are going to the Badlands on an exploration mission. It's a desolate landscape barren and devoid of all plant life, but such rocks might hide valuable treasures. Strange ores and crystals jut out of rock formations about a mile or two outside the city walls. Even map information will fetch you some reward from your faction. But don't venture out too far, or your resistance may wear off and leave you at the mercy of the elements.

G ➛ Wildcard! Feel free to utilize minor NPCs if needed. If you have any questions about the setting, direct them towards the FAQ.

afullmoon: (I'll be)

Figured it wouldn't. That'd be too easy.

[Not that he expected Stone to know what a phone was but...well. Using magic solely for communication was still a strange idea to him.]

It's Light. I thought about Spring but-well.

[At least this way they have other areas covered.]

Unless you like farms and farmers, you aren't missing much. Light is the one with all the gadgets, right?

[Definitely not the place for him. He mistrusts machinery in general, especially if it's as advanced as that place seems to be.]
scarsolderthanyou: (curious)

[personal profile] scarsolderthanyou 2017-09-01 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm not a sorcerer at all, but that won't stop me from thinking about it," Stone points out. "Do you have a name? Or should I just call you human, if you're the only one around here?"
afullmoon: (Dead love)

[personal profile] afullmoon 2017-09-01 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I like places to run, but farmers aren't exactly....wolf friendly. But you're right, it's the one with the tech. It's pretty much magic deprived.

They might not be Raksura friendly, either, once they realize how much I eat.

[He isn't handy like the dragons, able to turn most anything into energy. He needs meat. Also, because he's curious, he has to ask:]

So how do you earn your keep over in the other faction? I'm supposed to help with farming.

[Which is about as ridiculous as everything else, but it's not like he hasn't done stupid things before, and there's no Arbora here to be scandalized by a line-grandfather doing actual work.]

[personal profile] lyorning 2017-09-04 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Are you nobility then? I do not mean to offend; I am far from home and other customs are strange.

[Aerich hates asking, because back home he was good at figuring out exactly how anyone related to the politics via his own education and how they were presenting themselves; perhaps not as good as he was in his youth, as political upheaval scrambled everything. Certainly she acted as if others should react. It would be easier to judge looking at the people round her, but they were both in a foreign land.]

That was fair. They really should have done introductions, but if trouble was afoot, then it was natural to settle that matter first.

"Temma, Duke Arylle." Anything else was a nickname for friends, none of whom were here. "And yourself?"
afullmoon: (after I count)

[personal profile] afullmoon 2017-09-04 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
[He chuckles quietly. That is a problem, for both him and for Stone. He doesn't need just protein to survive, but boy, does he enjoy it. ]

Everyone seems to do something with tech over there. It'll be a lot like what I did before-I'm a licensed electrician back home. Which basically means I worked with wires, made sure things worked, and tried not to get shocked.

[He makes a face.]

The problem isn't work for me, it's finding a place to run around. Even if there are people familiar and accepting of what I am, it's...Light seems more fussier then others about things not going the way they think it should.

[ Hibiki has to consider this question for half a beat. ] After a fashion.

[ For her time's definition thereof. She won "Mister Handsome Universe Prince of the Year." This counts. ]
scarsolderthanyou: (smile)

[personal profile] scarsolderthanyou 2017-09-04 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
While Spring has more than enough room, and plenty of spirit-things in animal shapes, so you wouldn't even stand out.

[As opposed to big black dragon-shifters. They don't have a lot of those. But Stone can be sympathetic to things like that; he'd go nuts if he'd decided to try and hide what he is, and never shift.]

You should come by sometime, if you really need a run.
scarsolderthanyou: (nope)

[personal profile] scarsolderthanyou 2017-09-04 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"Stone of Indigo Cloud." At least the given name would be easy to remember: with the craggy sort of face, gray skin, and gray hair, he kind of looks like stone. He makes an annoyed noise. "So we're both from different worlds. And this is a different world. How many shitting worlds are there out there?"
afullmoon: (after I count)

[personal profile] afullmoon 2017-09-05 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
Pretty handy if I had to come over for an emergency.

[He thought about that too, when trying to think of what he had to do. But...he'd get bored with farming all the time. And he doesn't know the first thing about it. He had some sympathy for Stone though, who needed the food and the room.]

...in fact, if I can't find a way to get a run within two weeks, I'll take you up on your offer. It's just-safer that way.
scarsolderthanyou: (thinking)

[personal profile] scarsolderthanyou 2017-09-05 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Stone tilts his head thoughtfully.]

Why wait that long? If it's there and safe, might as well come whenever you feel like it. It's a little bit of a trek, but you don't have to come all the way across the faction's lands, just from here and out.
afullmoon: (in good company)

[personal profile] afullmoon 2017-09-06 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
I thought it'd give me enough time to get a lay of the land, so to speak.

[He shrugs. Maybe it's true, or just not the full truth. Either way, he shrugs.]

We'll see. I would like to make some money, and I can't do that if I'm always running off. Even wolf men gotta eat.
scarsolderthanyou: (kids)

[personal profile] scarsolderthanyou 2017-09-06 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, guess there is that.

[Stone scratches at his hair a little, frowning. He's gotten by in groundling cities before, but mostly due to having a lot of baubles to trade. The only baubles he has now are ones he'd never give away, so....]

I never was great with trade. Better than most of the court, but still not great. Hope they don't have a lot of shrewd bargainers back in Spring.
afullmoon: (on a tree)

[personal profile] afullmoon 2017-09-08 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe they'll want labor instead of items? I mean, you're in a bread basket of a community. They always need someone to help with one thing or another.

[Because...well, Stone can't go and eat other peoples sheep without getting into trouble.]
scarsolderthanyou: (curious)

[personal profile] scarsolderthanyou 2017-09-08 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
The thought had occurred to me. It would scandalize the Arbora if they were here. They're my people, the ones who usually do the kind of work that's to be had over in Spring, and the idea of me actually doing their work... they'd be sure I wouldn't do it right.

[He shakes his head; amusing as the idea is, it also makes him homesick already. Best move on.]

So I have your scent, and you have mine, and we know where to find each other if there's trouble. Or if you need to run. Shouldn't be too hard to pick you up somewhere. Anything else you need to know before I point you in the direction of a quieter street to get you back to the Light embassy?
afullmoon: (Dead love)

[personal profile] afullmoon 2017-09-11 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
[He nodded, listening. It almost sounds like there's a caste system or a group. He doesn't ask though, his mind elsewhere. He's thinking more of what he'll have to do to settle, and the connections he'll have to make.]

Don't think so, but thanks. If you need my help-even with figuring out some of the stuff you need to do in Spring-let me know.

[It's the least he can offer. Especially if it means he can head down a quiet street, away from the crowd.]
scarsolderthanyou: (smile)

[personal profile] scarsolderthanyou 2017-09-11 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[Pretty much is, actually, in a sort of fluid way when it comes to Arbora tasks, and a more biological way when it comes to the rest of them. It's an interesting culture. Stone nods, then adds,]

Might just come looking for company if the shapeshifting thing doesn't go over well, in there. You're going to want to go that way.

[He inclines his head in the direction of the Light embassy.]

Keep on this road until you hit the street with all the bakeries on it-- the street gets more crowded there-- then turn right until there's another street, and turn left again. It'll be right there.
afullmoon: (after I count)

[personal profile] afullmoon 2017-09-12 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[It'd be interesting to discuss sometime-that and maybe some of the politics that come with Chika's home. He's not sure his culture is very interesting though, mostly it's messed up.

But he nods, and glances in the direction indicated, before glancing back, thoughtful.]

Thanks. I'll get going then.

[And he turns to go, but not with one last comment-a serious one, but nonetheless-over his shoulder.]

I owe you for this.
scarsolderthanyou: (amused)

[personal profile] scarsolderthanyou 2017-09-13 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[Since that's one of Stone's favorite things to do, talking about his travels and his people and sharing stories with others, it could certainly happen. At the last comment, he snorts, amused, and watches Chika head off, answering almost flippantly:]

I'll keep that in mind.

((and in an ooc note, I do hope you app :D I'd love to see more of these two))
