DECEMBER OOC UPDATE POST.

It's December! The Moon does observe a holiday to mark the turning of time - this year will be their twenty-first aboard the ship. However, celebrations are the least amongst the leaders' minds - the events of the previous month have had unforeseen effects.

TIMELINE.
A plot event will occur on December 15th. It will not be an exploration event; instead it takes place within the moon, for PCs to mingle with important NPCs and learn about their motives.

There will be no formal AC for December. Instead, the mod will tally your AC for you and contact you if you fall below the threshold. Happy holidays!

SETTING INTERACTION.
As each character's actions in the setting will have a definite impact on the plot, there is a system in which you can 'turn in' descriptions of what they will be doing and receive a mod reply on the outcome. You can then choose to whether thread out the activity - encouraged, but not compulsory. Turning in these will allow mods to be updated on the effect that characters have on the setting. Feel free to turn in multiple interactions, there is no limit.

WRAP-UP FOR NOVEMBER.
Our November mid-month event had characters venture out in search of a lost carriage. Upon reaching a destination cave and fighting off its guard dogs, they found bodies belonging to the couriers and a cart devoid of crystals. The culprit was revealed with the help of the NPC Rinzen - a man with a third eye on his forehead, conjurer of the hellhounds and perpetrator of murder. For some reason, the PCs will not be able to remember any details about him save for his voice and his eye tattoo.

He claims responsibility for the murder as well as the theft of crystals, revealing with evident glee that he had also killed the accompanying dragons for their hearts. When accused, he merely states that Light had done the same before. Crystals belong to not one but all factions, so it was merely his right to take what belonged to him.

Whether the PCs believe his claim is another question altogether, but the fact remains that a third party is now admitting the intention of crystal theft. Is this man and his sect truly a third party, though?

He leaves with the parting words:「 The Sun's era is at an end. Soon a new god will rise. 」

FACTION NEWS.

Unfortunately, there is no snow in the Moon's safe zone. It seems that most of the snow, if any, are in the Badlands, or in Ice's stronghold.

LIGHT.
Light has chosen to remain neutral on their stand to the situation as a whole. However, the theft of crystals still needs to be addressed. It seems that Rinzen was tasked to accompany all crystal caravans following the assault, and the transport has been safe so far. The crystals, however, are not being installed into other terminals as previously claimed. They are to be used for 'defense purposes'.

Lucius has been oddly silent about all of it. It seems he has something to announce.

BLOOD.
It goes without saying that the man with the third eye belonged to the Blood faction. The Queen has issued a statement that she is not affiliated with them - the 「 Meteor Sect 」- in any way. However, she will not take action unless they come to challenge her directly. The population at large sides with her for most of it, though there are people secretly seeking out this Sect nn a bid to increase their own power.

Whether the other factions will take this lying down is another issue altogether.

SPRING.
Given the danger that comes with transporting crystals and attacks by the Meteor Sect, the Empress has elected to push forward with the delivery of already recovered crystals to the Life Springs. They are but a drop of water compared to the reservoir needed by the spirits, but every bit counts. PCs will be invited to join her in the ceremony. Details can be found in this month's IC log.

Due to their faction's history of being invaded by the Blood nation, there is rising unease amongst the people. The Empress' actions are in part to hopefully quell that tension before anything concretely negative can happen.

ICE.
The Wintersmith understandably flew into a (cold) rage upon hearing news that his dragons were killed. In view of Blood's apparent apathy towards the situation, he has vowed to take charge in getting the Sect accosted for their crimes.

And he's not going to let details of it slip easily, apparently.

BOUNTIES.
Due to the importance of the plot events this month, there will be no bounties! They will resume in January.

For the not-remembering thing with our villain, does that include scents, for our local Raksura? Or would he not think to erase that? :)

The villain dude smells unsurprisingly like smoke and fire. Whether it can be used to trace him, however, is a question that depends on whether he's walking or teleporting. The latter wouldn't produce a continuous trail, sadly.

Double checking- Phillip was immune to Rinzen's forgetty-ness, right? Is he still affected by the villain's?

Yes, but only for now! This could change later.
