AUGUST TDM.

➛ Welcome to Last Eden's TDM for August! Threads here can be counted as game canon. ➛ Feel free to use the prompts to test out a new character or to try out the game's premise! ➛ The TDM can be used for your application sample, though it is not a requirement. A DREAM, OF A SOUL AWAKE. You are asleep. The dreamscape ripples, resolves into a vision of a foreign land, and then a world of pure white. There is the sensation of rising through deep water, and then you find yourself in a room of white marble. Your items may be set on the floor around you, or you could have arrived bare-handed - whichever it is, you'll soon be addressed by a couple of tired-looking people in white coats. It seems they're as confused as you are. A ➛ After getting a brief introduction to the White Moon and choosing a faction, you will be allowed to leave. It's a whole new world, after all - so why not look around? The architecture of the Administrative Zone is very formal, in high contrast to the Free Market which is practically a riot of colour and wares. Merchants from all four nations peddle their wares here - have a look around, but also keep a watch on your purse. Some things can be quite expensive. B ➛ As you head out of the Administrative Zone's gates, a flash of light catches your eye. The sun-crystal is reflected quite brightly in the window of a nearby building, almost dazzling you - and in that instant you see someone behind you in the street. A youth with white hair and grey clothing, oddly familiar. You blink, and he's gone. Maybe he was never there at all. TO THE STARS, WE ENTRUST OUR DIRECTION. The money given to every new foreigner is limited. It seems you will be expected to earn your keep from now on, either through tradecraft or through offering your services to the populace. If taking on small contracts isn't your thing, each faction also has bounties up for the taking. After all, you carry a surprising resistance to the miasma that lurks outside the city walls. Why not put it to use? C ➛ Fancy taking a ride on a dragon? The roostkeepers of the Ice faction are friendly and will allow you to interact with their charges as long as you're respectful of their boundaries. The older dragons will merely gaze at you pensively, but the youngsters are always up for a game of catch or two. There's also the option of dragon taxi if you wish to travel between regions. If you can fork out the coin, they'll send you across the Moon in the fastest time possible. D ➛ The inland Sea is abuzz with activity at this time of the year. While the seasonal variations are dampened inside the Moon ship, that hasn't stopped the natives from hanging out at the beach. The Blood faction's side has plenty of revelry, with fireworks set off at night and grilled fish stalls set up along the waterfront. Some of the food on offer may carry potent effects, however - the shamans are used to ingesting enhanced wines, but are you? E ➛ If you've let slip the fact that you're from another world, you may soon gain some fans. Some natives will be curious and wish to interview you, but others may have more shady intentions. It can be hard to distinguish well-wishers from kidnappers - if you're being cornered by a few very earnest folk, it might be time to run. F ➛ The roostkeepers will let you ride one of their older dragons if you are going to the Badlands on an exploration mission. It's a desolate landscape barren and devoid of all plant life, but such rocks might hide valuable treasures. Strange ores and crystals jut out of rock formations about a mile or two outside the city walls. Even map information will fetch you some reward from your faction. But don't venture out too far, or your resistance may wear off and leave you at the mercy of the elements. G ➛ Wildcard! Feel free to utilize minor NPCs if needed. If you have any questions about the setting, direct them towards the FAQ. |

Lavi | D.Gray-Man | CRAU from The Far Shore
[So this is what the sun-crystal looks like.
Lavi still isn’t sure how he’s managed to arrive in this place, especially when he’s still trying to get used the very idea that shinki doesn’t exactly seem like a common thing around this area. It makes him feel on edge, unsure of how to properly proceed.
Looking at the sun-crystal is dazzling, almost enough to blind him when he catches sight of a reflection.
Startled, he turns to look at the person, only to be left even more confused when he sees no one. He runs a hand over his face.]
Fuck.
[C]
[It’s dragons.
Dragons.
Lavi can immediately be found with one of the younger dragons. The dragon has taken kindly to Lavi, nipping at his hair to get him to play. The redhead seems amused, reaching up to gently rub its snout in an almost affectionate way.
He doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to really ride one, so he’s just enjoying giving the dragons a lot of attention.]
[E]
[Why are there people around him?
Lavi feels the strongest temptation to run, possibly to avoid being questioned by other people. He never should have let it slip that he’s dead and serves a god.
Though, the idea of gods seem to be something completely different here than the Far Shore. He frowns a bit as he manages to slip away, only to feel himself jerk a bit in surprise when one steps in front of him.]
Sorry, but I gotta run. Can’t stay.
[Help.]
E!
Drawn to the crowd (denizens of the White Moon, members of each faction flocking to survey the newest arrivals upon the ship), the Director had hoped (and so too had dreaded) the thought upon happening upon someone familiar. Upon someone like Lavi, to whom Sion had given both flowers and camaraderie before they'd parted ways, the other man taking his leave of the Quad to sail the sea of stars with the Noah (and a stupid girly-face in tow...!).
And so--...
Even as a knot twists in Sion's stomach (Lavi, should you not be worlds away from this place, carving a path and a name of your own choosing?), it is an easy thing for him to smile; to cut in close to the other man, and link Lavi's arm with his own in a gesture which is incredibly light of heart and thoroughly at ease. ]
Forgive me, friend— [ Wearing a much too-charming smile, Sion cants his head to the side, winking to the civilian as he declares!: ] —but I'm going to steal this one away. ☆
[ And lo: he does, in the blink of an eye, whisking Lavi away and out of sight with a speed which can only be described as preternatural.
Where could Sion be heading, though? If Lavi can't keep up, Sion could always carry him...! ♫ ]
no subject
He tries his best to keep up, only waiting for a bit before he forces himself to stop.]
Hold on.
[Why are you going this far to help him out?]
no subject
his captive'sthe other man's footfalls begin to slow, signaling a stop which so too brings the Director himself to a halt.It is with a precise economy of motion that he releases his hold upon the other man, continues forward for exactly one step, before pivoting neatly upon his heel to face his companion—gold eyes which are lambent, creating an after-image with their own light, interlocking with green. ]
H'oh? You're out of breath, already? [ —the words are a gentle tease, utterly devoid of malice but surely boasting a capricious lilt; an air of something whimsy and belonging only to the sky. ]
You'll have to be better prepared for next time. The civilians here are... ah, rather relentless in their pursuit.
[ ...way to make them sound like a mob, Sion...
And way to sound overly cheery while doing it??? ]
no subject
[His tone is a bit dry, though he would admit that there's still something off about this guy that he can't quite figure out. The gold eyes makes him think briefly on something, something that is simply beyond his reach.
However, the way this guy acts--
It makes him think of Allen, and not in a good way.]
....Those are some reassuring words. [He wonders if a Borderline would be able to work here, but:] Who are you?

C!
But here, dragons served a very different purpose, one which stepped directly from the legends and into living, breathing reality. The young traveler is a little wide-eyed as they approach the creatures assembled at this particular roost. It's actually the machine they're kept balanced at their side, a well-maintained motorrad, that speaks up first:] I can't believe it!
[Kino can't really either, but one tends to believe their eyes after a good deal of time spent on the road.
The traveler carefully stands Hermes up on his kickstand (to his grumbling complaints) and approaches the small group of dragons. They were actually walking towards where the young man was petting the nose of one of the smaller beasts, with an intent to ask him about it, but another of the younger dragons approached to give them first-hand experience before that. It looms over the kid, snorting and looking at them expectantly. For Kino's credit, they don't look at all frightened—just cautious.
It moves its head closer to them, and Kino pauses briefly before shucking off one of their gloves and gently patting the ridge of its nose. The scales were smooth, faintly warm. The dragon gave what seemed to be an approving rumble.
Kino looks over their shoulder to the other newcomer, a small smile on their face.] They're really incredible — [the kid begins to say before the dragon interrupts, nosing further against Kino's hand. They give the beast another pet.]
That's okay, I'll just watch them from over here! [That voice, which sounded like it should've come from a young boy, sure did just come from the motorcycle sat a short distance away. To confirm that, Kino shoots him a bit of a look.]
no subject
He allows his hand to slide down its neck in an affectionate gesture before he looks over at the traveler. Nothing about him stands out, but he's more curious about the two different kinds of voices that doesn't seem to make sense.
His eyebrows furrows a bit, mostly in confusion as he tries to figure it out before he glances at...what is that?
The redhead is a bit confused now, enough that it has the dragon nosing him for more pets.]
What is that voice?
no subject
There was less of that here, set away from the common crowds as it was. There was just the attention of the dragons. As Kino turns to address the question, the dragon that they had been patting on the nose looks none too happy to be momentarily ignored.]
Oh. [It wasn't the first time someone had expressed surprise at Hermes; though it was alternatively rote or simply unsurprising for motorrads to speak in Kino's own world, the fact that the vehicle had his own sentience was something of a shock for most they'd spoken to here so far.]
It's mine. What, can't you tell? You have ears, don't you?
[The voice, a tonally lower and gruffer than Kino's (albeit still sounding quite young), was certainly coming from the motorcycle leaning on its kickstand. Kino begins to approach it, looking chagrined.]
Don't be rude.
[A brief pause, then, in grumbled undertone:] I think it's kinda rude they're all so surprised...
no subject
Lavi was sure he's seen a lot of things already, especially given the fact that in the Far Shore, there were already a whole lot of weird things going on.
At the same time, the redhead crosses his arms, looking a bit unimpressed at the motorcycle.]
To be fair, no one really expects a motorcycle to be talking.

C
The way it turns one bright blue eye on the boy sitting on the floor with the fledgling and quirks what might be a smile-- albeit a smile full of sharp teeth, and accompanied by some flicking of its head-spines-- also suggests friendliness.]
no subject
Lavi nearly jerks a bit in surprise when the other creature lands, but the dragon he's with keeps him upright.]
Uh...hi?
no subject
Then it shuts its eyes and nods its head in a very clear greeting, and reaches a clawed hand over to pat the young dragon Lavi's leaning on in a parental sort of fashion before pulling back and out of the pair's space.]
no subject
Really, he watches warily as the clawed hand comes over to pat the young dragon, only relaxing a bit when he pulls back. A sigh escapes from him and he relaxes more.]

did someone say light too dazzling to behold prompt
Though true, it's no drab gray but crisply monochrome black and white that Allen is dressed in. Pale enough to be a bit blinding himself with how he and Timcanpy catch the light. (He really does need to get a hood again.)
Though he's the one looking at Lavi like he's seen a ghost. ]
Lavi...? [ Did he imagine it? To be honest...
To be honest, waking up this third time someplace strange—he had already resigned himself to being alone and kind of forever without a home again. Told himself it was okay he was alone. It meant they would still be okay back home, right...? Even if it felt like it ripped a part of him out, a part of him so repeatedly torn away it seemed impossible he wasn't scarred into numb resilience. That it isn't something so raw he has to tip his head back and swallow lest it overcome him before he's found a way to center himself again.
It's why he's barely aware that he's moved forward until he already has. To not—as he once did one summery night on a balcony in Caissa—vault himself over the railing and dash off into the castle gardens before letting someone from the Order (even if it was Lavi) catch up to him. To not follow some deep-rooted instinct to flee, not when that life has already been left pretty far behind.
To not do anything of the sort, but to run forward to snag—proprieties be damned!!—the other boy's elbow in both disbelief and crushing, raw relief. ]
Lavi!?
[ His thrice-lost friend. ]
ALLEN [1/3]
The bond he would have with his god is nonexistent here, and he's sure that if Cardia was truly here, she would have called him by now. Everything feels disoriented to him, something that makes him want to pretend that everything he's experiencing now is nothing more than just a dream.
But then he sees Allen, and he's sure that it's just a flicker of his imagination.
Just--]
[2/3]
It's Allen.
If this was a dream, then Allen wouldn't be here. Not like this. Not looking at him desperately as if they've been apart so many times before and it tugs on Lavi's heartstrings once more.]
[3/3]
[There is a strong wave of relief that courses through him, and he couldn't resist the urge to tug the boy - god? - into his arms into a tight hug.
It's a vulnerability that the redhead wouldn't often allow himself to feel, to show to anyone - especially Allen - but it was also something that he couldn't fully prevent given how disconnected Lavi became to everyone and everything. He was estranged from the people he befriended and knew; in fact, it can be safe to say that he was starting all over again from a blank slate.
Lavi could barely keep himself from squeezing the younger teen just to make sure he was real.
In fact, he was sure that Allen might just punch him this time to get him to let go.]

Feeling Lux and Lavi there, spirits as well who would become his weapons because of the bonds they had and names he gave them—they were gone too and that felt strangely hollow.
And yet Lavi.. ]
! Lavi.. [ Of course he won't punch him for that. Not under the circumstances, and his eyes widen in surprise, stunned and the breath taken from him by so sudden and unexpected a hug. Lavi who had forgotten Allen for months, after all, after he'd died. And Allen who had refused to stop being his friend despite it and how cold the other Exorcist had been sometimes. Did he remember finally...? And yet—
His eyes well and he blinks for a moment quite rapidly. To be so overcome either that he would finally be remembered—or that even if he isn't... Lavi would reach out so.
But also maybe because— ]

...tight.. [ It's a bit wheezed and you know maybe that's why his eyes stung.
Neck!! He can't breath!!! ]

E, also she's not crau, have fun with that
[ This isn't the person who stepped in front of you.
No, this is a person reclining against a wall a ways away, arms crossed, smirking to beat the band. ] Behavior unsuitable of a celebrity.
[ She has a small cluster of people staring at her, too, except they're not clamoring around and more "whispering to each other behind their hands" and "giggling like crazy" and "daring each other to get too close" and, in one case who's being treated by their friends, "fainted dead away".
A Shikyoin Hibiki freed from the Near Shore's blind spots is a Shikyoin Hibiki to be feared, indeed. ]
no subject
[Lavi stops when he fully recognizes the voice, almost stumbling over his own feet in his haste to stop.
Startled, he looks over at where Hibiki is sitting, staring at her almost as if he just saw a ghost. He takes a step closer before hesitating, unsure as to how to properly approach her given the fact that yes, there are people who can easily look like the ones he's met before so--]
...Hibiki?
no subject
...Correct.
[ Hibiki would have no trouble believing she were famous here already, were it true. She is, however, not quite so divorced from reality as to think it likely.
She never forgets a fan, so she makes a dismissive gesture and takes her best guess at an alternative. ] If our paths crossed at the gala thrown by the queen of the Paltic states, I won't remember you. More pressing matters met with my attention.

Very playful, isn't he?
[ This petite girl beams over at Lavi and Lavi's dragon from where she's being nuzzled - or, rather, nearly knocked over every time she's headbutted - by a particularly large and imposing draconic specimen. Even the other dragons are giving this one a respectful berth, but when its nose bumps Fuwari, it almost seems to be...purring.
She reaches up to pet that nose when next it heads her way. ] Of course, you're playful too! But be careful, please. All right?
[ The next snout boop is gentle. ]
at first i thought i completely missed this
[But he is...concerned to see a child here.
He tilts his head a bit as he looks over at her, watching her quietly.]
